Vegas, Baby!

lasvegasblog15

After photographing Franki and Max’s wedding at the Paris on Saturday and hanging out with Jessie and her family most of Sunday, Clint and I checked into the amazing Planet Hollywood hotel. If you’re going to Vegas, I totally recommend staying there. It is super hip and cool with amazing lights and flatscreens everywhere.

lasvegasblog20lasvegasblog16lasvegasblog17lasvegasblog22lasvegasblog21On Sunday night, we enjoyed a little PF Changs before heading over to the Bellagio.lasvegasblog19lasvegasblog18lasvegasblog23The Bellagio fountains are always amazing to watch, especially at night. It was so special because the song that the fountains played to was “Fly Me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra, one of my favorites!lasvegasblog24Inside the Bellagio was the amazing blown glass ceiling and a Chinese New Year display in the atrium.lasvegasblog26lasvegasblog27One of our favorite places was the Fontana lounge. We really enjoyed the live band and watching the fountains outside the windows. Definitely check it out when you’re there!lasvegasblog28lasvegasblog25lasvegasblog29The shot below is looking up from the Planet Hollywood casino floor. It is so neat inside!lasvegasblog30Planet Hollywood is connected to a mile long circle of shops! We spent a lot of time on Monday wandering around and shopping there.lasvegasblog31lasvegasblog32For dinner on Monday, we walked over to the Paris back to Mon Ami Gabi for a fabulous meal on the patio which faces the Bellagio fountains.lasvegasblog33lasvegasblog34lasvegasblog35lasvegasblog36The food was soooo good and it was so nice to sit and watch the fountains while we ate. We are not gamblers, but we did put a dollar or two into the slot machines and left with $.50 more cents!lasvegasblog37lasvegasblog38We had an incredible time and we were so blessed to be able to go and enjoy and capture Franki and Max’s wedding as well as spend time with Jessie and have a short mini vacation in Vegas! We are looking forward to going back!

The Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

keeleforblog251

When you visit Las Vegas, you gotta go check out the famous Las Vegas sign! It was so cool to see it in person! When I told Jessie that we wanted photos in front of it, she laughed and agreed. To her, someone who has lived in Las Vegas most of her life, the Las Vegas sign is totally overdone. It would probably be like someone coming to West Texas and wanting their photo next to a pumpjack. Heck, no! Are you kidding me? BORING!

keeleforblog261keeleforblog271We actually had a lot of fun taking these photos and can you believe this was Rick and Jessie’s first photo in front of the sign?!? I think it turned out so cute!keeleforblog281Thank you Jessie and Rick for the fabulous time in Las Vegas! You have ruined us with In-n-Out Burger! We had so much fun! More of Clint and I’s time in Vegas coming soon.

April 29, 2009 - 8:21 AM Molly Kate - this is a fabulous sign! adorable pictures!

Red Rock Canyon: Nevada

lasvegasblog02

The next day after photographing the wedding in Las Vegas, Jessie took Clint and I along with her family to Red Rock Canyon. It was totally gorgeous and we had a great time hiking to the waterfall and talking photographs of each other. I got lots of cute ones of Jessie in action! Clint took some video footage which one day we’ll make into a mini-video of our trip.

Behind the Scences of the Las Vegas Wedding

vegasweddingblog01

At the end of February, Clint and I had the awesome opportunity to photograph Franki and Max’s amazing wedding at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas! While we were there, we stayed with my good friend, Jessie, who is also a photographer. Jessie and I have been online friends since 2005 when we both received honorable mentions in Creating Keepsake’s Scrapbooking Hall of Fame. We had so much fun hanging out with her and her family. She was an amazing hostess showing us all kinds of awesome things about Las Vegas, took us to In-n-Out Burger (which is as good as I’ve always heard) and she also assisted me at the wedding on Saturday. Because there were three of us shooting the wedding, we got lots of behind the scenes photos for each other to use. Here are just a couple of Jessie, Clint and I in action!

vegasweddingblog02vegasweddingblog03Me Twittering about shooting at the fabulous Paris hotel!vegasweddingblog04vegasweddingblog05aboutkaylaCheck out all the stuff I was lugging around in the photo below. I have more photos of our trip to Las Vegas coming soon!

April 22, 2009 - 10:26 PM jessie - YAAAY! I love these shots! Thanks, Kayla, for sharing them with me! We are the best team ever! LOL :)

April 21, 2009 - 8:15 AM Heather - How fun that you two got to do that together! ;) Okay I am shooting a wedding in June and need to get some camera info from you (and Jessie!) as to what you use. I want to get some lenses/flashes from borrrowedlenses.com and would appreciate any info you think would be helpful! :) Thanks!

Easter Sunday

easterblog01

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday. Ours was amazing, full of love and very relaxing. Clint’s mom invited us over to an Easter breakfast before church. She makes the best pancakes! After enjoying breakfast, we went to the late service at church. It was so neat to see all the things that we had been planning and brainstorming for weeks finally all come together. During the service, people shared their testimonies on cardboard. It was so powerful and a wonderful testimony to God’s grace and love in all our lives. I hope you all had a blessed Easter!

This Week at Spink {April 5-11}

1. {GIRL TRIP} Sorry that there wasn’t a this week post last week. It was a short and super busy week for me. Last Thursday, I left with all of the ladies on Clint’s side of the family to go down to Fredericksburg for our yearly girl trip. We stayed at the cutest cottage, ate some amazing food, shopped and played some crazy games of Chicken Foot. I have lots more photos to share, but until then, here is a sneak peek.

2. {MOM’S BIRTHDAY} Monday was my mom’s birthday! I was sad that I wasn’t there to celebrate with her and take her out, but I sent her a very special gift. I made this combo teapot/teacup several months ago. I painted it in the exact same colors and design as her handpainted containers and bowls that she owns from Pier1. If you know my mom, you know that she LOVES her morning cup of tea. I spent two days and several hours painting this for her. She thought that I had bought it and didn’t realize that I had painted it until she read my card. I don’t think I did that good of a job painting it, but I was so happy that she was thrilled! Happy birthday, Mom!
teapotblog013. {April Stamp Club} Monday was also my monthly Stamp Club meeting for all of my ladies. Every month, I have about 15-25 ladies that come over to make several cards and purchase awesome Stampin’ Up! products from me. Here are the cards we made this month.
aprilstampclubblog01aprilstampclubblog024. {FEATURE ON SW} Two weeks ago, I heard from Lindsey at Southern Weddings Magazine that Franki + Max’s awesome Las Vegas wedding is going to be featured on the Southern Weddings’ blog! I love their blog and all the ladies at SW are so talented and I can’t wait for their wedding to be posted! I’ll post when it goes up or you can add the Southern Weddings’ Blog to your reader!
frankimaxweddingblog285. {MY BIRTHDAY} To end this super busy and fun week, it was my 22nd birthday yesterday! I am feeling a little bit old! Clint surprised me by inviting several of our close friends to dinner with us and his family. During dinner, we had the craziest hail storm which was so loud! The hail was about a golf ball size as you can see from this photo right outside our house. 22birthdayblog01Others had hail that was softball size and it damaged lots of skylights and cars. We were thankful that we didn’t have anything more than a couple hood dents. Back at our house we had some cake, opened presents, played a game and watched a movie. It was a super fun night. I’ll have more photos coming soon.
