Oh my gosh! I am so excited to post these photos from Nicole and Dale’s trash the dress session. Trash the dress or day after sessions are probably my favorite sessions to shoot. I love that the couple wears their wedding attire, but we are free to go anywhere and do anything! Two days after Nicole and Dale’s wedding at the Paris Hotel, my good friend and fellow photographer, Jessie of Speckled Bird Art, picked us all up and we headed up into the gorgeous mountains outside of Las Vegas. A lot of people don’t get to see this part of Las Vegas and it is so beautiful! I am so glad Nicole and Dale were up to braving the 100+ degree heat for this session!

Let me just say, I had SO many favorites from this session. I starred about half of the session as my favorite! Nicole, you looked freakin’ amazing! Dale, thanks for looking great in that gray suit although it was so hot. Ya’ll totally rocked it! Thank you so much for having us take these photos for you!

And the best way to end a photo session? Taking your clients to In ‘n’ Out Burger for the first time! Cheeseburger animal style with a chocolate shake for me! Soooo yummmmy! Here they are sporting their hats!

Since we bought our 7D camera earlier this year, we have recorded lots of little video clips and I don’t think I have shared any of them! One of the funniest is this clip from our trip in May up to Ohio.

After several nights in a row working super late, Clint and I loaded up our car and headed up to Ohio. We decided that we would go ahead and make the trip from Midland, Texas to Dayton, Ohio in one day. We woke up 3:30am and started making the long drive up.

Clint drives and I navigate. Which means I use my iPhone to locate where we are going, determine the best route, then attempt to tell Clint where to go all while trying to get my iPhone to refresh fast enough. For quite awhile, this method had been working. Well, at least for me anyway! Of course, we would be in the middle of some crazy traffic in a big city and then my iPhone wouldn’t update and we would miss our exit. Or Clint would ask me how much longer, I would estimate some many centimeters there were and give Clint a vague time estimate. Let’s just say it was good marriage building. Hehe.

On this trip, we were almost out of crazy Oklahoma. Only about an hour left to the border. I told Clint that he needed to change highways, but somehow we both never saw an exit and we ended up on some crazy backroad that twisted around rivers and towns. We should have just turned around, but being the good navigator that I am, we pressed on. After 30 minutes+ of driving this crazy, curvy road and going through the most hillbilly towns, we finally made it to the right highway and the following video was recorded.

A few days laters…a trip to Best Buy was made, a GPS was purchased and Kayla the Navigator is no more.

Vegas!!! When I tell people that I have shot weddings in Vegas, they look at me with that, “Are you serious?” face. I know, I know, when you think of Vegas you think of all those movies with the super, scary Wedding Chapels and they are a little shocked when I tell them I have couples getting married in Vegas. No, people! It’s not like that! When Nicole first called me and told me she was planning on getting married in Vegas, I was super excited for her! I sat down with her and told her about the weddings I had shot in Vegas and how beautiful the Paris Hotel was and how wonderful it would be! I was SO excited that she wanted us to go with her and document her wedding day! Loved it! The Paris Hotel is such a great hotel with lots of neat spots. I was SO sad when I saw that their beautiful fountain on the front was under construction, but I knew it would force me to be even more creative. Especially on this crazy, 110 degree day! Some of my favorite photos were taken in their hotel room, just relaxing right after the ceremony. So fun! Nicole and Dale are so sweet together! I have LOVED photographing them and they are so comfortable in front of the camera! Makes my job easy!

I have more photos from their AWESOME trash the dress session that we did up in the mountains of Las Vegas which I will post soon! But first, their wedding at the Paris Hotel!

Yay! I am so excited that I am finally posting these photos! I meet Heather earlier this year and I was so excited when she wanted to book us for her destination wedding at the infamous El Dorado Royale Resort in Riveria Maya outside of Cancun! Woohoo! Clint and I were so excited to go back to Mexico and super excited to capture Heather and Josh’s wedding! It may have been crazy hot, but Heather looked gorgeous and these two were SO happy together! I mean, seriously! It’s not hard to get amazing photos at a resort like this! It was so wonderful to be a part of their gorgeous wedding!

A couple weeks ago, my family came down from Colorado to visit us! We had a wonderful time seeing them and while they were here, I took my brother, Joshua out to take some updated photos of him! It’s hard to believe that he will be 21 in about two weeks! Crazy! I am so proud of him! He is a genius when it comes to the Bible and anything theology related and he is currently working on his bachelors and masters degree at the same time! Amazing!

I am really, really excited to share these photos with you! Most weddings, I get a little nervous and anxious, but not with this one! I was SO excited to be photographing Shannon and Zack’s wedding. I really believe that God brings me all my clients and Shannon and her family were SO amazing to work with! Shannon’s mom, Colleen gets sweetest mother-of-the-bride award! I love her! So sweet and I am so blessed that I was able to be a part of this special wedding! Everything was so beautiful and classy! I loved it!

I loved these bouquets! So classic!Probably my favorite walking down the aisle shots ever! They are so cute!They had brownies instead of a groom’s cake and they were SO good! They made good ring props too!
